Oerlikon Balzers expands its In-House-Center at DAYTON PROGRESS in Portugal
BALINIT® DLC coating system starts operation in May 2018
Oerlikon Balzers and DAYTON PROGRESS will deepen their partnership with the opening of a new coating system for BALINIT® DLC. At the manufacturing site of DAYTON in Portugal, Oerlikon Balzers is operating an In-House-Center. With start of production, Customers will now be offered 13 in-house coatings. This will result in fast processing times, as well as, expert competence in surface finishing on site. Thanks to the close relationship with Oerlikon, DAYTON PROGRESS will continue to offer the right solution to the customer by using both highly technical knowledge, along with, a superior level of quality.
BALINIT DLC is a diamond-carbon like coating, which is being increasingly used in the automotive industry. Reason is the reduction of weight by the usage of aluminum. It provides protection against abrasion and adhesive wear and is perfectly suited to high speed stamping procedures or extreme wear conditions.
Oerlikon Balzers is one of the world’s leading suppliers of surface technologies that significantly improve the performance and durability of precision components, as well as, tools for the metal and plastics processing industries. Since 2003, the company has operated the coating system at DAYTON PROGRESS Perfuradores in Portugal. The coating center now consist of three units.
