Headed punches ISO 8020
Head punches ISO 8020 from DAYTON are available with ejector pin (AJ_) and without ejector pin (AP_).
We etch all punches according to customers' wish.
DAYTON® JEKTOLE®, the punch version with ejector pin. During regrinding operation, the ejector pin is locked. Thus you do not lose time for disassembling the punch.
DAYTON Keeper Keys are the perfect solution for regrinding.
Head Punches ISO 8020 - Characteristics and Benefits
Characteristics |
Benefits |
||||||||||||||||||
Punch head tempered |
The reduction of the hardness in the punch head increases the overall load capacity of the punch. |
||||||||||||||||||
Chamfer |
Ensures that the head of the punch rests with positive locking in the counter bore of the retainer. |
||||||||||||||||||
Radius |
Reduces the notch effect on the head of the punch. R=0,3+0,2/-0 |
||||||||||||||||||
Etching |
All punches are etched according to customer specifications. |
||||||||||||||||||
Side vent hole (only in Jektole® punches) |
Minimizes the suction at withdrawal that can cause slug pulling. In addition the side vent hole allows using the keeper key to lock the Jektole in the retracted position. Thus it is possible to regrind the punch without disassembly and still ensure the correct length and function of the ejector pin. Maintenance and downtime are significantly reduced. The „Keeper Key“ is available free of charge at DAYTON PROGRESS. |
||||||||||||||||||
Lead chamfer |
The shank diameter is lowered to facilitate perpendicular installation in the retainer. |
||||||||||||||||||
Transition radius |
Breaking off the punch is reduced by transition radius (13 mm). |
||||||||||||||||||
Ejector Pin (Jektole®) |
Jektole®, the spring-loaded ejector pin from Dayton reduces slug pulling in most cases. The diameters of the ejector pins are well chosen so that the stability of the punch is not compromised. The ejector pin allows the increase of the punch-to-die clearance, requires less press pressure, minimizes burr formation, and reduces the pressure required to strip the punch. The tool life is significantly increased and the overall punch costs are reduced. |
||||||||||||||||||
Grinded surface |
All DAYTON punches have a surface roughness of 4µm on the punch point, which significantly increases the tool life. |
||||||||||||||||||
Tolerance and concentricity |
DAYTON punches are ground to the following tolerances at the punch point.
